the 'float' is the amount of shares that are available for the public (us) to trade, so in this case, 51M outstanding shares is what the co. has issued in total, out of which approx 43M are owned by insiders or are restricted (can't be sold till a specific date) and the rest (8M) are what is considered the float, which is what we are trading with.

You are old enough to make your own decisions, chances are pretty
good that I own this stock....
