Yes , parallels exist but the sentiment was much more hyper then, and given how much of the rise happened either in gaps or the first 8 minutes of the open, it didn't haven't the feel of a normal traded market. Nobody really believed in it. However they evetually got it going, and as our board shows evidence the bulls were starting to get lathered up.
The path on the way down has been much less hyped (to the downside). There's no particularly bad news to "justify" the decline and its surprising that none of the newly minted bulls have shown any willingness to buy the dips.
