Personally I think the US could use these resources to boost their economy. All those minerals in the caldera with all the natural gas resources will make Alaska an economic giant and give the US a serious economic boost. Isn't this exactly what the US needs at this time when it's slowly lagging behind the rest of the world and China in particular.
