WASHINGTON (AP) - The motorists group AAA says signs show that gas prices are likely to continue higher in the near future.

Today the group said the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline rose to $2.05.5 a gallon. That's a tenth of a cent above the previous high.

Justin McNaull, a spokesman for AAA, says growing demand is partly to blame. He says the demand for crude oil both here and around the world is "getting pretty close" to equaling the capacity to produce it.

He also says gas futures have been on the rise lately, meaning prices at the pump are likely to continue going up.
