NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Shares of Tenet Healthcare (NYSE:THC) jumped more than 50% in preopen trade on Friday a day after Community Health Systems Inc. (NYSE:CYH) revealed that it offered to buy out the company for $7.30 billion in cash and stock. The offer represented a 40% premium to Tenet's price at the close yesterday, Community said. In a press release issued after the close on Thursday, Community said Tenet rejected the offer three days ago. Community Health said it originally made the offer on Nov. 12.
