Technically all he did was provide newspapers with the documents that were given to him. It was the newspapers who published them NOT wikileaks. All he did was put on the wikileaks website the documents WITH the redactions that the newspapers put in.

He also asked the state department and pentagon to go through all the docs to tell him what to redact and not publish and they have refused.
