TOKYO — The number of corporate bankruptcies in Japan fell 12.6% in February from a year earlier to 1,056, down for the 26th straight month, a private-sector corporate credit research agency said Monday.
Combined debts left by the failed companies also shrank 25.8% from a year before to 808.29 billion yen, Teikoku Databank Ltd said. But the figure was still the ninth largest on record for February marked in the postwar period, it said. (Kyodo News)
