Porpoises are cool. And fast. They used to love to play in the bow wake of the destroyer I was on. The huge sonar dome created an unusual wave situation they seened to love. I was a sonarman in the Navy and other destroyers I was on that didn't have the bow mounted sonar still attracted mammals. I think it was the sound we made. They think we are one of them. In the pacific we would get a contact sometimes and you wouldn't believe it. At first you would think it was a sub but after tracking it a few minutes the movement revealed it was a biological. We figured they were Blue Whales. We estimated one at 110 ft.
