Hi - Curious about this...
Back in 2000 I invested in an ozone technology company doing many of the same things including an "ozone generator" process that was economical, had patented features and was possible to scale-up with reasonable economics. Product lines were varied.. sterilizing toothbrushes, sterilizing meats, odors, medical instruments (had hospital contract for "special generator looking a bit like an onclave for medical instruments" and a few small prototype successes), etc.

I forget most of the details including their name (out of Texas I believe). They failed in about 2004 because of lack of funding and lack of success in any of their attempted markets. End result it cost me a few hundred dollars between in and out points, and I learned a lot about OZONE both pro and con. This was also during the poastal crisis and, of course, 9/11 - so, there were a lot of good "market motivators" involved where the ozone solution could be applied (apparently at least). Others were also treating wastewater with ozone - I believe that is still a treatment but the market has never taken off for it like many predicted.

As I recall, the most damning thing about ozone was also its most important attribute... it is a highly aggressive oxidizing element.. which allows it to destroy and rapidly decompose living biological matter (a good thing in general as long as it is contained and not killing humans)... but also the same "feature" is what makes it so difficult to use in large scale applications... it tends to corrode many metals rapidly and it tends to crack the logical materials used in many kinds of sealing devices.

I've skimmed the website of MZEI and details about management, etc... I didn't see that there was a lot of "new" there compared to what was happening during the 2000 period, except the promised funding which of course was also present then (post office, etc.)... I know many of the Canadian and U.S. firms trying to make market with ozone failed.. while some in Europe seemed to be succeeding. Yet, I know a few regulars here and I respect their general abilities to look into credible opportunities... so, I'm curious to learn more.

So, that's a lot of background that leads me to my interest in knowing succinctly... what is so great here versus "the others"?

Believe me I'm not trying to bash, just trying to summarize that I come with skepticism to evaluate WHY this might be a great short term investment?

TY
