Here you go Tim,

I was driving down the road one day and noticed a new sandwich shop that had just opened up across the street from McDonalds. I decided to pull in the parking lot to get a better look at the place. I hopped out of my car to peek in the window to see what the place looked like inside. Just then a gentleman stepped out of the front door and said "Hello, I am the proprietor of this new sandwich shop, have a look around and let me know if I can be of assistance". I immediatly turned to him and said "what can you offer that McDonalds does'nt offer? Do you plan to make money from this place? Do you think you will ever be as famous as McDonalds who is just across the street? What qualifies you as a business owner anyway? Because you charge for your food you owe me some answers now!!! The proprietor, clearly astonished, took a deep breath and thought for a moment and with a clear mind replied to me, "sir, as you go about your business over the next few days take a moment to look around and notice all of the small businesses that are thriving in the marketplace. Each one offers something they feel is unique, a different style or way of providing a service that makes them different from the rest even though they are in the same industry. If you stand back and watch you will notice that some people will choose McDonalds and others Burger King, while another group will prefer a more personal touch. Those are my customers. The ones that enjoy a warm hello when they arrive, not a hello that is part of a job description. The ones that know me by name and the ones I know by name. They are the customers who stop by to say hello even when they are not hungry. They are my friends and potential friends. They are the people that find value in the personal touch and not the assembly line touch. They are the people who prefer a community that works together for the benefit of all. Those are my customers." I stood there in disbelief, my mind scrambling for something to say. "Well", I stuttered, trying to rationalize my previous statments, "On a comparitive basis your prices are higher than McDonalds, they offer more variety on their menu and sometimes give stuff away for free. Your rent is probably exspensive for this prime location and with the small amount of business you get I imagine you don't make much money. I'm not sure if you have much of a future and I'm reluctant to hang around to see what happens". The owner looked at me and scratched his chin while he thought for a moment and then he said to me, "Sir, my dream has been to own my own business ever since I was young. I started making sandwiches at home, learning from my friend who was a chef. To gain some experience I would volunteer my skills to local groups and churches, making sandwiches for free as I learned the business. I drew large crowds at these events as my skills increased. I eventually decided that it was time to fulfill my dream of owning my own business. I researched and found a way to start inexpensively so that I did not have to worry about profitability at first. My menu is small but the service is great, and unique. A few of the people who followed my progress still eat for free because of the inspiration they gave me. Here is a letter written about the service I provide from one of my customers/friend:

"Hi...I arrived back home this afternoon and was checking out the progress you have made on NIPG...but got quite a bonus..., a much needed big laugh on the Bulletin Board ...to Wolfgang....ERES on steriods or after Guru has put his money into it!!! I am still laughing!!!

I plan to start a plan on the site...but want to work within your system correctly...

I thought I would scan stocks &2.00 - 12.00 that have consistanty risen over the past three months (TC-2000 formula)...set them up for pullbacks using X_DEV and then enter the trades in simvesting....

Do we need to register with simnvesting???

Let me know if this "works" for you....or what you think would be better???

Looking forward to getting back into the mix again!!!!"

"I don't understand why it's important to you if I make money or not but I do know you have the choice to eat at McDonalds, Burger King or my sandwich shop. At any of these places you can stop in and try the menu and services they offer. If you don't like them you can go next door. Eventually you will find someplace that fits your personality and style. I am glad you stopped by, but now I must get back to work." The owner of the sandwich shop shook my hand and headed back inside. I stood there for a moment, looked at McDonalds, then looked at the sandwich shop....................

Yes, the $1.95 fee is to keep out the noise posters... And it works....

Hope to see you there... Jimbob http://www.newinvestorprovinggrounds.com
