Well I'm sure some will spend endless hours making taking the old website down out to be a major clandestine coverup ala Enron paper shredding.

In my view, they thought the new site would be up and decided to take the old one down.

How long was the old site up with new management in place? If they wanted so bad to cover something up they would have taken the site down immediately.
