(NMTI)—CLOSURE-I study provides closure to the notion that closing a PFO is warranted to prevent stroke:

This is not a new story, but the final data were presented today from NMTI’s long-running study. The finding is that PFO’s should simply be left alone; in the study, patients who did nothing had essentially the same risk of stroke/TIA as patients who had surgery to close their PFO.
