I used to think the same way about option several years ago, tried to convince others about high risk and random nature of option. I changed my mind after studying it thoroughly and doing it in practice the last 3 years. I rarely buy option. However, using option consistent with your investment strategy (ie not to randomly gamble) enhances return dramatically.
