I think if you read through the PRs, "scam" is not as unfair a characterization as you make it out to be. It's one thing when someone makes a deal or two that doesn't work out. It's another when every deal not only "doesn't work out", but ends up being nowhere close to being as it is described in PRs and filings.
This isn't a case of someone putting out a revenue projection of $10 million and only seeing it reach $8 million. It's more a case of someone saying $10 million and getting zero. Over and over again.
Calling it out does not mean I hate Larry. I don't know Larry, and I certainly don't hate him. I do however take exception with those who try to enrich themselves at the expense of others. Just because they are not successful does not make their actions honorable. Someone who robs a bank and gets caught in the act is not excused because they didn't get any money.
I for one am very glad there were people who posted honestly about the company and Larry here and were not blinded by either affection, greed or simply a pay check. Their service no doubt prevented some from losing a lot of money (me included).
Personally, I'm very tired of hearing "It wasn't Larry's fault". I do feel sorry for him, as I would for anyone who sees greed or incompetence ruin his life, but not as sorry as I do for those who believed the hype and through no fault of their own, lost significant sums of money.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
