Tronox 2007 Report

"535,000 and 107,000 tonnes of aggregate annual chloride and sulfate TiO2 production capacity, respectively"

642k

Hamilton, Mississippi 225,000 Chloride
Savannah, Georgia 110,000 Chloride
Kwinana, Western Australia 110,000(1) Chloride
Botlek, Netherlands 90,000 Chloride
Uerdingen, Germany 107,000 Sulfate

Someone can chime in if they recall if one of these facilities shut down.

pg 9 gives a good idea of why huntsman would still be interested in Tronox.

In 2007 Tronox had about 12% of market share. Huntsman 10%.
Huntsman still uses the Sulfate process for 69% of their production. Acquisition of Tronox would dramatically lower their production cost and put them in first, tied with Dupont.

Not sure if Kronos has enough firepower to acquire Tronox. Dupont and Cristal both already have a preponderance of their production based on the lower cost chloride method. Acquisition of Tronox by either Dupont or Cristal would add to production capacity but wouldn't necessarily lower their costs.
