YESTERDAY: Investors continued to cheer the Fed's announcement to pump $600 billion into the economy. The announcement was met with a tepid response Wednesday, but markets around the world surged Thursday. Initial jobless claims rose higher than expected.Retailers reported strong sales results for October, despite the still-struggling economy. After the close, Starbucks announced that it doubled its fourth-quarter profit and rose almost 3%.
