Wamu should have taken Chase's offer back in April of 2008 of $8.00 a share.

The only reason they didn't was due to the arrogance of their CEO.

Case in point was ML's purchase by BAC. Thain the ML CEO somewhat saved the day for the shareholders by convincing BAC to forget about LB and buy his company instead.
