OT -- Have you ever read Michael Pollan's book "The Omnivore's Dilemma?"

It's my favorite non-fiction book of the decade, maybe my life. The author, a journalist, decides to trace four kinds of meals to their sources. It is a balanced, very well written account of those journeys.

Corn plays a huge role in the meal he gets at McDonalds. His thesis wrt to corn -- and it is pretty compelling -- is that it has domesticated us (at the very least, it has partnered with us), and in so doing has become the most successful plant on the planet.

Corn plays a smaller role in his meal sourced from Whole Foods Market, and an even smaller role in the one he gets from a sustainable farm in Virginia. But it's still there.

Only in the fourth meal -- the one he forages/shoots with a little help from his friends -- is it entirely absent.

The book will likely change the way you think about food, though I doubt it will alter your investment thesis on MON, one of the dominant players in the corn fed industrial food chain.
