Shanda To Make Important Announcement This Week

Shanda (Nasdaq: SNDA) will hold a press conference this week to make an important announcement regarding IPTV, China Business News reports quoting an unnamed source. Shanda public relations manager Li Lijun confirmed that there will be a press conference this week, but said that details of the conference will be announced in a few days. One Shanda insider speculated that Shanda is taking advantage of the attention the company recently attracted with its possible acquisition of Sina to release its IPTV products. According to China Business News, Shanda, Huawei and UTStarcom recently won the bidding for Heilongjiang province's IPTV set top box project. The report also said that Shanda will use Microsoft's IPTV technology.
