Federal investigators said Daniel O'Riordan once included the name of a dead man on a list of phony investors as part of a scam to create a public market for stock in the Georgetown company he once ran.
The former Boxford resident also authored false press releases about his company -- Paradigm Tactical Products Inc. -- to influence public stock sales and filed bogus documents with the Securities and Exchange Commission to fraudulently obtain exemptions in connection with the sale of stock, according to an SEC complaint filed yesterday in U.S. District Court.
Prosecutors of the U.S. attorney's office Friday charged O'Riordan with securities fraud.
