Irony of a "free market" where we all pay the costs accrued by convience. When considering the productivity gains that have come about via the ubiquitious use of plastics. Plastics = efficent. I wonder if there are studies that quantify the role that plastics have played in the continued improvements in economic productivity? The sum total has got to be massive!

There is the "If you build it they will come" factor that many bean counters here don't seem to get. Gut investing. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts! I knew a guy who started the first recycling center in our community in the 70's out of zealous idealism.
