You hit the nail on the head. I do find it astonishing that many people apparently expected the US to come right out the this major financial collapse we just endured. You have to wait at least 2 years before just beginning to see the effects of any new president's policies. It is as absurd to blame Obama now for the economic difficulties we are in, as it was to blame Bush in the his first two years for the collapse of the dot com bubble at the end of Clinton's term and the impact of 9/11.


Good article by Paul Krugman today in the NY Times about public works spending. I often disagree with him, but I think he is spot on now. Government spending for big and important infrastructure, especially now that private sector spending is down. There is a big difference between spending and investing in the future. Looking back over the action s during the depression, what had long lasting positive effects were all of the big public works projects that were built, the tunnels, bridges, dams, roads etc.

Speaking of investing, I bought some IMGN today. I meant to do it before the European Cancer conference but let it slip by.
