Well, ABT withdrew Meridia "voluntarily" at the request of FDA. I am not sure how "voluntary" ABT actually did. FDA might not have forcefully asked if there were no advisory panel.

As of taxpayer money, this case is the least I am worried about. Tons of big waste in other areas. I'd say it needs to cut other wastes, give FDA more money to speed up both approval and enforcement.
