As always, it's hard to tell what trading thesis motivated the put trades - could be speculative bearish, hedging, or income generation.

Or smart institutions acquiring positions through the options market --- grabbing some decent premium and acquiring shares of hedged longs. I'm sure Bernstein helped a number of them do this over the past couple months.

IMHO, MNTA's current share price has fully priced in a TEVA approval however I'd expect a dip on the news (if it ever happens) and a relatively quick move back to current levels.
