It could be that they are very forward thinking and anticipate the total collapse of the US dollar. If they mine the gold now they have to pay for operations by selling that gold now at greatly reduced prices from what they will be in the future. The longer they wait to mine the more the gold will be worth. I would actually prefer they wait until the rush to gold to protect wealth really gets moving before bringing up a single ounce. Let all the other gold companies mine and exhaust their supplies and then we'll have an even bigger piece of the world gold market when it's our time.
