A much needed update!

After Cody’s bout with aseptic meningitis, I wasn’t in the mood to blog about anything! My nerves were shot, my emotions raw…


Cody’s been very ill before but this was different, and it was scary.

After weeks of discussions with the doctors and several more weeks of fighting with insurance, Cody was finally approved for Hizentra, the newest brand of SCIG! Yesterday was our fourth week on it and we couldn’t happier! Cody spends about 2.5 hours a week receiving his immune globulin infusion- AT HOME, often times running around outside and enjoying life just as he normally would. We went from three entire days a month on 7,000ml of fluids, pre meds, infusion at the hospital, post meds (tons and TONS of post meds) to one 2.5 infusion a week…. With no need for even Tylenol or benadryl!!! In the matter of a month, Cody’s life has once again been changed for the better! A new lease on life for my precious middle child! Tomorrow we go in for our monthly check up and blood work where Cody will request to have his doctor allow him to get his port removed!!!!!! :O)
