stockey,, the diesel engine they are developing for the hybrid car is really a driver for the alternator to charge the batteries, it could possibly run other fan belt related items like power steering if it is a full time application. However I believe that it will be tripped to turn on when the voltmeter reaches a certain stage of discharge, therefore giving the batteries extra mileage. Who knows for sure,development stage company in the truest sense of the word.
