Maybe when baby boomers start retiring and passing on there will be a flood of new job openings.

One of the problems I've heard in some industries is that people who were planning on retiring are working longer periods of time because their 401Ks and homes are shot that they were depending on. So at some point if things recover on either of those you may get a wave of retirement age people finally leaving the work force and allowing the unemployed to have more job opportunities.
