AMD rallies amid positive mention in Barron's (AMD) By Tomi Kilgore
Shares of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) are rallying 38 cents, or 8.6 percent, to $4.78 after the chipmaker received positive mention in the current issue of the business weekly Barron's. Alan Abelson's column made a case that AMD's computer chip Opteron can take market share away from Intel's (INTC) Itanium chip as it makes major inroads in corporate servers and workstations. Intel shares are slipping 4 cents to $14.42.
