I wouldn't say that.

I think "informatics," or the analyses that companies couple to their characterization methods are very important. In fact, much of the newer methods allow accumulation of ever larger amounts of data from an increasing number of samples. Sifting through this data and making sense of it (rather than just dropping a number of p values onto readers) is very important.
