For example, in May, the UN Commission on Latin America (ECLAC) found that Venezuela had reduced inequality by more than any other country in Latin America from 2002 to 2008, ending up with the most equal income distribution in the region. This has yet to be mentioned by the major international press.

The part that you underlined "ending up with the most equal income distribution in the region" is evidence of your totally misguided and warped perception of how the world should be...

You constantly portray success in terms of equality...

In your vision of a perfect world, why should anyone work hard to achieve anything if it will just be confiscated and given to someone that has not worked as hard... A perfect picture of complete socialism... It's very sad that there are people like you that believe that when a person works hard that the fruits of his labor should be redistributed to those that have not made the effort.

BTW... This La La land in Venezuela that you seem to be so fond of is one of the worst places in the world to live given that they have one of the highest inflation rates in the region...

Inflation is the most cruel "equalizer" of them all... It makes everybody poor.

And if that's not enough to call Venezuela a lousy example of economy prosperity just take a look at Chavez's "Beautiful Revolution"
