As I said, it's a concept I haven't researched, just thought I'd throw it out there. I'm sure the data are available and correlations could be made if one wanted to do the work (for example, what was the average price paid for an hour of human labor? a pound of wheat? an ounce of gold? etc. and what was the fiscal and economic condition of the nation in each past decade?). Would be interesting to see the results. I would imagine someone, somewhere has already done this sort of study and published the results. Again, would just take some digging to find the info.
