Ot ..Tigers

About ten years back a good friend and I
wandered by the Ramganga River in N India..
we were staying on the edge of Corbett Nat Park in
Tiger country..
(Jim Corbett 'took' 1000 of the great cats in his day)
Too excited to sleep..he and I went out into the night
and strolled along the banks of the Mt fed clear running river
The word..beautiful does not touch it..
I noticed huge prints (Pug is the term for tiger prints)
in the sand as we walked..and told my buddy..we were at risk
He laughed..saying..the tracks were most likely dog...
I insisted we return to the compound were we were crashing..
the next am..we learned that a goat was taken a few hundred
yards away..and received a serious talking to by the camps owners..
He told us..our getting killed..
would be Very Bad for his business..
We burst out laughing..upon hearing this
but did not stray forth again.. at night........
(our wives went nuts when we told them the tale..<g>)
Male tigers..can get up to 10 ft long and weigh almost 600 lbs
