I share the frustration of other long-suffering longs regarding TMTA's ability to gain any traction in this "nuclear winter" but it would have been unrealistic for TMTA to escape the same fate that befell INTC and AMD. At least they only had a 1.1 mill shortfall compared to last quarter and compared to the competition their revenue losses were minimal (how else to spin it?). I truly felt they had to have some of those HP sales built into this quarter or the TABPC would be a total dud on launch date.
I know all the semis have cut way back on orders during this last quarter. The order activity is nothing short of chaotic. Order today-cancel tomorrow-contract?-what contract we didn't sign a thing-it's all spot ordering now and those orders are small. If you don't have a diversified product base you get killed. The 4th quarter is shaping up to be bleaker still and TMTA's guidance for next quarter makes perfect sense to me no matter how frustrating that news is when finally disclosed.
Linear is a telling example: they are cash rich, have no debt, create innovative products for their market segment and are now laying off people and filling up warehouses with chips that may take another year to sell. So for TMTA longs, AMD longs, and yes even INTC longs they all sit on their dead money until late next year. So you can continue to accumulate if you're not broke already, or get that voodoo book you always wanted to buy at Amazon.com and start making some bad-mojo cause TMTA can sure use it.
Where's that Captain Morgan's? Something's always happenin' with the Cap'n!
Now where's that chicken...

PS: Don't use turkeys or pigs that has the reverse effect on stock prices-I promise to stop using them from now on...
