Clarke (Against All Enemies) was telling the truth and Condi lied lied lied...
Again, I highly recommend Against All Enemies to get the real deal about how Bush & Co failed not only prior to 911 but ALSO AFTER 911...
Spin away. Nothing you've come up with so far refutes the fact that the incoming Bush admin. was briefed on the Al Qaeda threat by the outgoing Clinton admin. Here's more from friday's Crossfire:
"When former counterterrorism chief Richard Clarke charged that his calls for urgent action against al Qaeda had been ignored by President Bush and Condoleezza Rice, the Bush administration called the charge -- quote -- "deeply irresponsible and flat-out wrong" -- unquote. We now have proof that Clarke was telling the truth and the Bush White House was not.
A previously classified memo from Clarke to Rice warns in dire terms of the al Qaeda threat has just been released. Mr. Clarke wrote it only four days after President Bush took office. Condoleezza Rice has also claimed that no plan to attack al Qaeda was turned over to the Bush administration by the Clinton administration. Dr. Rice lied. Today, that plan was released. You can read it for yourself.
The Clinton administration gave the Bush administration a detailed strategy for attacking al Qaeda. The Bush administration did nothing with it."
