02/11 Our Optimism Index is still positive but trickling
southward. Our data source had bad data for the
dollar index today, XGLD was strong closing above
$420.00, and XOI gained over $22.00.
02/10 The bond index fell for the first time in a
week. The dollar index fell, XGLD had a strong
day, and XOI rocketed upward.
02/09 Our Optimism Index is doing a pretty good job of
raising the warning flag. It's still falling and has
fallen out of the area we consider bullish. TRIN/TRINQ
Bretz numbers both popped above 6, showing considerable
anxiety. VXN/VXO moved up, too. The dollar index fell
a little, XGLD moved up a dollar, and XOI yielded just
a trace.
02/08 Our Optimism Index is retreating and fell out
of the ALERT area. The dollar index was steady,
XGLD fell a trifle and XOI made back yesterday's
loss and a little more.
02/07 Our Optimism Index is slowly giving ground and is still
sounding ALERTs. McClellan is still strong. The bond index
is still roaring and the dollar index is, too. XGLD fell a
little and XOI gave back Friday's gain.
02/04 Our Optimism Index is still pushing out ALERTS!
telling us things are good and all good things come
to an end. The bond index hit a new high (again),
confirmed by strength in TLT. Even McClellan was
quite enthusiastic. The dollar index had a strong
day, XGLD fell again and XOI was up a little more.
