I'd love to see a President and Congress agree to a 10% cut off of everything.

So give seniors 90% of their Social Security checks, or cover 90% of their medical costs?

Why can't we do that? Just something that points us in a better direction. (less spending?)

Because it would bankrupt quite a few seniors, and no politician wants to be remembered for being complicit in the deaths of old ladies.

There's only so much that one can cut. Part of the solution has to be to grow the revenues.
