PDYN PARADYNE: Paradyne adds 8-port GigE Switch Card to the new 12000 IP BLC

LARGO, Fla., Feb 08, 2005 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) --With the initial shipment of more than 250 units, Paradyne (NASDAQ: PDYN), a leading provider of IP BLC solutions, marks the successful launch of the new BSX8000-5 BLC Services Switch. The BSX8000-5 began shipping in November 2004, and has been well received by telecom operators looking to support triple play multimedia services and business-class transparent LAN services.

The BSX8000-5 is the highest capacity Gigabit Ethernet switch to be fully integrated into a Broadband Loop Carrier, providing Paradyne`s 4000 and 12000 series BLCs with eight Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, and operating at more than 30,000,000 packets per second. The BSX8000-5 is optimized for both video and native Ethernet services, supporting residential ADSL2+, bonded ADSL2+, Business-class ADSL2+ Annex M, and native Ethernet transport over bonded T1, E1, or G.SHDSL.
