The short position will take care of itself in the near future. One way is for the company to declare a dividend. When people don't receive their dividend and scream at the broker because their account reflects ownership then the Broker goes to the Market maker and says make good. The market maker goes to who ever did the shorting without borrowed certs and watch the rush to cover. Up goes the price because there are not enough shares to cover. The longs make a nice tidy profit and the shorts have stomach pains.
There is also a NOBO report that is useful. The actual amount of naked shorts on EEGC at any one time varies.
