I hate to say it because I supported his efforts, if not his goals, but attorney Whitley screwed the pooch big time.

This line of communication isn't likely to be looked upon well in North Carolina either, so that doesn't explain anything. Other than having to deal with a boatload of people with lousy judgment I can't imagine what drove him to it.
