Have to tell y'all about my Great Day. First let me say my wife & I have been involved in (dog) rescue for about ten years now. We have 4 dogs out of rescue now, all hounds. Have fostered lots over the years.
Back to my big day. This morning I drove over to a shelter in Lampasas, TX` pick up a pretty little female Fox Hound (about 2 1/2) years old. Today was her last day. The lady came out with her & I open the back and she jump into the crate, turned around two times & laid down. I drove into Austin TX about 70 miles to a "fosters home." The man came out to see & get her, she jump out, walk around & pee about 5 times, took a big poop and had a look on her face that said OK I am at home now. We talked a little (Texans do that) called my wife to let her know everything went OK. Then I headed back to my place felling like I did some good today. When I got home I did all the things I usual do. Ate a late lunch, bitch about the city traffic, got on the internet check stocks and this board. Was in watching TV when it hit me. If we had not pulled that beautiful little girl she would be dead now. Just another of life's throw a ways. So now I can say I didn't just do some good today, I did something Great today. I saved a wonderful sweet little Fox Hound from a cruel death. Hope y'alls day went as great as mine.
