mlsoft, How big a rate hike? Right now it looks to me that major banks are in trouble with bad loans and they are holding a bunch of fixed rate loans. I would think that any rate hikes would tend to put a serious squeeze on their remaining profits. I have mentioned before and I'll mention it again, our little businesses are the real engine of this economy and they are being wiped out. You take any one little business, it is irrelevant, but when you take the whole and realise that they have no money to buy products from the major companies therein lies, IMO, the current problem we face.
