Testing is testing regardless of industry, although the ASTMS/tests are different obviously for various industries and require different tests. Credibility is formed by testing through out the world, not just for product attributes, but also for quality assurance and the meeting of product parameters when manufactured. All of which extend into PR/Credibility and its promotion and sales. I have spent many years in the military and in various industries, and testing is the common ground for product credibility and its use in all of them. I personally sold through tests and the credibility that data generated to major auto companies in Detroit, filtration firms, shoe manufactures, clothing manufactures, materials to be used on the insulation of the space shuttle and many other things.

Sorry to have offended you, it wasn't intentional; sounds like you may have been posting relative to perhaps a public sector employees knowledge on the subject, and it is understandable that they would be unaware of the intimate association between tests and credibility in every industry, since they seldom deal with it in most cases. Didn't mean to be rude to you.

If testing bore no relevance to credibility then SB never would have bothered with the time and expense of his initial testing on the product to get it patented. The test results confirmed what was necessary in the case for patent/credibility. If you look back a several years you will see a far amount of was testing done. Initially it was a critical and strong part of the foundation for product credibility, since it then was the basis for the patents.

Still a free world, so you can disagree if you wish, most of us are sure of relevancy having been involved in one way or another with private industry. No need to beat a dead horse though. GLTY
