North Carolina energy-from-waste company EcoPlus, Inc., has agreed a multi-year contract to buy biofuel from a new plant being developed in Spartansburg, South Carolina.
The deal is contingent on a pre-delivery quality test on the biofuel made by the plant being built by coal brokerage firm Converse and Company.

Converse is developing a plant that will turn waste oil from restaurants into a solid biofuel that could be used as a coal substitute either on its own, or co-fired with other fuels or biofuels.

The solid biofuel is likely to be used in power plants, food processing plants or cement kilns, with EcoPlus acting as Converse and Co’s distributor
