The first drug to get licensed will be the first one to be tested on humans. It now looks like DengueCide or HivCide. Would like it to have been HSV or EKC, but big pharma is dragging its... well they are being really slow about it.

If it's Novartis, they have a huge conflict of interest through Alcon, who has more than $400 million tied up in its own pink eye antiviral, which can't seem to get out of Phase 2 trials (Phase 2a, Phase 2b, Phase 2c...). From what I gather, there is a small problem with occasional corneal damage, not from the disease but from the treatment.
