Thanks for the post about the compression device from Medical Compression Systems. Similar devices are widely used in hospitals to prevent DVT following orthopedic surgery or extended bed rest, so the only thing that’s novel about MCS’ device is its portability.

Moreover, an obvious deficiency of any of these devices is that they are effective at preventing clots only in areas of the body where the squeezing action is performed, i.e. the legs. Thus, I see the devices as adjuncts to anticoagulant drugs rather than replacements for them.
