When an "authorized generic" is "authorized" by the owner of the corresponding branded drug, is the "authorized" drug necessarily the same as the original branded drug? Is that ever the case? Sometimes the case?

I assume that if NVS were to sell one of its drugs through Sandoz, the drug marketed by Sandoz would be identical to the original one marketed by NVS, or is that not necessarily true?


If I tell my friends to use only the Biovail Wellbutrin XL, are they going to have to pay a premium price?
