Who were these freaks parents, anyway?

Control freaks, you can't run a complex industrialized high-tech economy without them, and you can't shoot them. I think that some of it is genetic, based on the fact that the same families seem to produce our "leaders" century after century, and part of it is environmental based on the fact that we are raised in a command/control economy and social structure and some people just get into it and enjoy telling other people what to do. I like freedom...I'll do my thing, you do your thing, and as long as nobody is getting hurt, it's all good.
