RE: Supreme Court.
As usual you are misinterpreting my intent. I didn't start this. I know that Gore lost (fair and square is another argument). It wasn't Me who made the post glaoting that "Gore lost another recount", it was you guys. It wasn't me talking about why don't the republicans give up on this issue, it was you guys going on about how WE aren't giving up on this issue. As I recall, no Democrat on this board has even mentioned this until now. It's not the Democrats which are keeping this thing going, it's you guys, and you're inability to face up to the fact that you have a dunce for a president, and if you quit talking about Clinton/Gore, you will have a hard time trying to defend HIM.
Oh, and spall, The supreme court ruled 7 to 2 that the recount violated Florida's CURRENT election laws (because they were left deliberately vague), but DID NOT say that a recount was illegal 7 to 2. As a matter of fact, almost every opinion stated that the Florida laws were too vague, and could NOT be complied with, and the order was to clarify and then resume counting, with the restrictions making that impossible, as I stated before. Of course YOU only want to cite the part of the ruling that was agreed upon 7 to 2, but that was a DEEPLY divided opinion, and it WASN'T 7 to 2 throughout. This reminds me of the discussion you have been having with meme, where she KEEPS pointing out other reasons for an increase in revenues OTHER than a tax cut, and you keep replying that that's all well and good, but what other reasons OTHER than a tax cut could there be? You have a wonderful gift for ignoring anything which doesn't agree with you.
Oh, and also by the way, spall, you're going to have to face it sooner or later - you're a republican. A right-wing one, but a republican none the less. If it makes you feel better about yourself to think not, then go ahead, but in spite of your protestations that you are libertarian, we all know better.
