I'm guessing that the settlement is nothing more than a replication of the "recitals" in the original AMD agreement. They sound awful, but they are so general as to be irrelevant in day to day business.

The recitals said generally that, "Intel promises never again to kill the first born of AMD engineers" and things of that ilk. In the agreement it was recited that Intel denied ever doing such things, but agreed to cease all such activity.

Very much like a consent decree that the SEC uses. There may be no mention of technology sharing in the settlement, other than Intel will give NVIDIA enough information to connect to the new processor lines.

This would be a very favorable settlement for Intel. It, of course, would allow the Nvidia civil suit to continue, where Nvidia claims that there old technology sharing agreement covers Intel's new core processors.
